There is no shortage of verse and rhyme, About how leaves do fall, After turning gold, or brown, or red: Autumnal colours all. Or how the leaves crinkle underfoot – Soundtrack to the season. But we always know when autumn’s here, For a different reason. A distinct bite to the air at night, Or that first morning frost, And the welcome return of a smell, Familiar yet long lost. If you are unable to get out why not gather in your household, in front of your burner this evening & watch the flames dancing behind the glass & make the most of what you have. We remember our history immortalised in this nursery rhyme, the Gunpowder Plot ✨ Remember, remember the fifth of November, Gunpowder treason and plot. We see no reason Why gunpowder treason Should ever be forgot! Guy Fawkes, guy, t’was his intent To blow up king and parliament. Three score barrels were laid below To prove old England’s overthrow.
