Dare we say the C word ?? Yes we will hohoho…..Christmas !! Just to give you something to think about on this Saturday evening ✨ Christmas is a great time of year in its own right. We happen to think it’s made even better if you have a woodburner in your home, and this year especially, we need to make it an extra special one !! Here are four Christmas song inspired reasons why Christmas is better with a woodburner. Roasting chestnuts Chestnuts might not be your thing, but they do have that festive appeal thanks to Nat King Cole. (Then again, he opted for an open fire rather than a woodburner, so we’re not convinced his judgement on such matters is to be trusted!) Regardless, a woodburner does give you the option to roast, toast or cook any Christmas snack of your choosing in an enjoyable, romantic and cost-effective way. Guaranteed to get you feeling all festive and fuzzy. The fire is so delightful Nat King Cole has got his mention, so it is only fair that Dean Martin should have his say, too. It was in Let It Snow! that the King of Cool wisely observed: “Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful.” That sums up our point nicely. There’s nothing quite like a woodburner to create a cosy atmosphere that will make you glad you’re indoors and relaxing instead of outside in whatever weather December serves up. We would advise that, unlike Dean, if you spot the fire slowly dying, you add another couple of logs before resuming your goodbye-ing. Faithful friends who are dear to us, gather near to us Christmas is about gathering with friends and family. Frank Sinatra knew this when he sung Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. One of our favourite things about woodburners at any time of year is their ability to create a hub of activity (or sometimes a hub of inactivity). Just like in the olden days – or happy golden days of yore, if you prefer – a fireside attracts people in search of warmth, conversation and companionship. This phenomenon is even more special when you throw the festive spirit into the mix (and yet more so if you throw a festive spirit into a mixer). Conspiring and dreaming Aside from the things we’ve already mentioned, Christmas is also an excellent time for reflection and hitting the reset button. Then as we head into the new year, we can put fresh plans into action in our lives, hopefully feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. As the Christmas standard Winter Wonderland, popularised by Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and many others, has it: “Later on we’ll conspire, as we dream by the fire.” Sit back, let the flames do their dance and start dreaming. And a non-musical bonus reason why Christmas is better with a woodburner… Lower heating bills Days spent stuffing your face and watching classic movies mean more time at home than would generally be the case in a normal month. More time at home in December means more heating is required. Without a woodburner, that involves an extra Christmas expense to heat your home. With a woodburner, you can just create a cosy atmosphere in the room you’re using and spend less on your central heating. Get in touch to get your woodburner installed for this Christmas 🎅🏼🤶🏻✨
